The Magnetic Control Locking (MCL) System is a mechanical locking
system that is located inside the Jewel. It is designed exclusively
for Jewel and has the unusual feature of an externally controllable
magnetic locking system. This allows you to activate and deactivate
the locking from outside the tubes, therefore eliminating the need for
holes (which would weaken the walls of the tube) and allowing the cable
to be located in the main tube of the Jewel.

The Jewel always comes with a remote control to be controlled from
the handlebar, never from the seat post. Because with advanced riding
taking your hands of the handlebar can mean eating dirt. For your safety
Blacx doesn’t fabricate seat posts without remote control. Since the
position of the controls on the handlebar is very personal, the Jewel
control is designed to be used both for left and right handed riders. It
takes up very little space so you can position it between grips, break
levers and shifters, wherever is comfortable for you.
